I've been trying to solve this on the dBasePlus newsgroups to no avail. So
I'm trying here.
I am using BDE version: 5.2.0.2 with dBasePlus. I have developed an
application that run fine on four out of six machines I have tested it on.
On two machines I have two problems that are stopping it.
One problem is a module that reindexes the datafiles. I get a 'Database
Engine Error: Invalid Index Descriptor'. This occurs on all attempts to
reindex even with the most basic index. None of the indexes are complex.
The dBasePlus code is fine and works without a problem on four of the six
computers.
The other problem is any form using a LookupSQL with a index gets the error
'Database Engine Error: Unsupported Capability'. Remove the index and it
works okay but items are not in the desired order. With the index it works
fine on four of the six computers.
The settings in the Registry and BDE Administrator are the same. I've run
it on a Dell desktop with WindowsXP pro, a Toshiba laptop with WindowsXP
home, and Dell desktop with Windows 98. It won't run on a Gateway with
WindowsXP pro. The other computer where it won't run is a BetaTester's
self built. The software on each computer is nothing unusual and most have
the same software.
I've reinstalled the operating system. I've cleaned out the registry and
remove the BDE and reinstalled the application and BDE. I've remove all
Corel products.
I don't know any other place to look. Hopefully someone has some ideas for
me. Thanks!!!
